Overview
The wise sage steps beyond the story of his own life. He looks back over seasons, relationships, battles, dark valleys, deserts, and domains he has ruled with curiosity, generosity, and deep contentment.
He understands that his life belongs to the Lord. While longing for God’s kingdom, he lives in this world and passes on wisdom to those in earlier stages of the journey.

The Enemy’s Attacks
For review: these attacks and the growth pathway below are reflection additions to the supplied Wise Sage overview.
- Clinging to former influence instead of generously making room for others.
- Allowing disappointment to harden into bitterness or withdrawal.
- Believing that having less formal power means having less to offer.
03
The Path Toward Growth
Continue receiving from God while giving freely to others. Stay curious about their stories, and share wisdom without needing to control the outcome.
Offer presence, encouragement, and perspective to the next generation. The earlier stages remain part of him: he still receives love, stewards desire, offers strength, tends wounds, and serves faithfully.

Reflection Questions
Take time with these. Consider them in prayer, in a journal, or in conversation with a trusted man.
- Which parts of my story can I now look on with curiosity and generosity?
- Who could benefit from my presence and wisdom without needing to become a copy of me?
- What am I being invited to release so that another generation can grow?
Each new stage incorporates the earlier ones. These questions invite reflection wherever you are in life; they are not a measure of rank or maturity.
